Low Income Pit Bull Spay / Neuters only $20.00 - LIMITED SPOTS - 2/20/2013
|
The Humane Society of Henderson County in Kentucky has obtained a grant to assist with low and no income families with Pit Bull Terriers in Henderson County.
The Pit Bull Terrier vastly overrules any other breed of dog at the shelter. These dogs are all filling the shelter as stray, unwanted, abused, or neglected dogs and they sit in the shelters
The Humane Society of Henderson County would like to try to reduce the numbers of unwanted animals by offering the funds of this grant to the community in the form of VERY LOW cost spay and neuters to families that are on supplemental, low, or no income (with documentation).
Here is the plan of action. For just $20.00 The Humane Society of Henderson County will spay and / or neuter your pet and microchip the dog. The Humane Society will then pick up the cost of the rest.
To get signed up for your Pit Bull to be spay and / or neutered, please come to the shelter to get prequalified and get put on the list of appointments. You should bring documentation of income to the shelter located at 203 Drury Lane Henderson, KY 42420. They will set up an appointment and give instructions as to how to prepare. The shelter is working with local veterinarians to get this work completed and fulfill this grant and the shelter is hoping that this improves the commitment to the community to make Henderson a leader in animal care and control. Remember Pit Bull owners that are going through a rough time, are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to get your animal spay / neutered though this Pit Bull grant program through the Humane Society of Henderson County in Kentucky. For more information, contact Joshua Cromer at jtcromer@hshcky.org or Misty Payne at mpayne@hshcky.orgGood luck and together countless lives can be kept out of shelters. |

Microchip Clinic Today - Tuesday May 15 - Only $25!! - 5/15/2012
|
If anyone has had the misfortune of losing an animal, then it's no secret the loss that people feel when one is gone either by theft, escape, or just a mishap on the owners part. Microchipped animals have a way to get back to you, as soon as they are found by an animal control, humane society, as well as most vets all over the country. The Humane Society of Henderson County will be microchipping all companion (cats and dogs) animals for the public on Tuesday May 15. The clinic starts at noon, and will go no later than 7pm. Come early, as late arrivals will be turned away! If your animal becomes lost or stolen, and is picked up by animal control, or turned into a humane society or veterinarian clinic, a chip reader is waved over their chip area and an the chip information will display. Then it is only a matter of looking up the chip information, and you get a call that fluffy has been found! The chip itself is the size of a grain of rice, and is quickly implanted into the scruff with little or no discomfort to the animal. It hurts more to watch it!!
The cost to come to the clinic is $25.00, and it will take a matter of seconds, after the paperwork and payment is complete. We look forward to seeing everyone down here to add an invaluable tool to your furry family member and help them find you if they ever are lost.
